Each heartbeat pushes a little more blood into your face, and your skin's colour shifts by far less than you could see. ME-rPPG looks at a small crop of your face 30 times a second and turns those shifts into a pulse wave. The number is the strongest rhythm in the last ten seconds.
In 2024 I built a heart disease predictor, Pulse Predictors, from tabular data. This one reads the pulse from tiny colour changes in your skin instead.
The portrait is my illustration with a pulse painted in at the rate it shows, so you can see it work without a camera.
